So who is this guy?
My name is Jerry Whiting and I live in Seattle, West Seattle to be exact. I’m a nerd at heart, I own Azalea Software and have a basket of eclectic interests and pursuits. Many of them I share here on JetCityOrange.

This is one of my favorite photos. It’s me being held by my Dad, along with my grandfather and my greatgrandfather. Once you hear my laugh you’ll recognize me from across the room. And down the hall, around the corner.
Radical Buddhist (vajrayana as in HDDL), long-time vegetarian (fin’n’feather x40 years), father of 3 sons, Lisa’s husband, and some would say a “one-of-a-kind” character (OK, most would). Sometimes I feel like a stranger in my own country.
Miranda calls me a “radical Tibetan Buddhist” Just because one’s heard the Dharma doesn’t mean they’ll morph into a spineless pussy. You can take refuge and do direct action in the streets. Or as Miranda sez “Om mani padme hum motherfucker!”
I have a thing for signs especially those with visual puns, turntablism & 8-bit chiptunes, and soy chai. I drive a Smart Car and pedal a Trek. XP SP3 and Android. I hate Apple and Microsoft. I’ve been known to run Tor servers (and you should too). To me, ultralight means hiking not flying. Speaking of which, planes are taxis at 30,000 feet.
Inked but not pierced. My sons are intact even though I’m not; it’s a generational thaing. Beer over wine, IPA if you please. Thai, 3 stars. Get the picture?

About the t-shirt: Yes, I can do math. When I met Lisa, I was 50 and she was 55. I promised her 20+ years. That was almost 8 years ago.
